Tom Gorman was a professional baseball umpire who officiated in the Major Leagues from 1951 to 1976. He worked four World Series, including the 1967 and 1975 Fall Classics. Gorman gained a reputation as a consistent and fair umpire who never lost control of a game. He was known for his distinctive style of calling balls and strikes, using a loud and distinct voice. After retiring from umpiring, Gorman worked as a scout and consultant for several major league teams. He passed away in 1986 at the age of 62.
